Choose three words to sum up what it feels like to win at Cannes
Incredible, Unbelievable, OH MY GOSH, IT’S ME.
What do you put your success down to?
It was a really simple idea. Excellent insight/problem and a simple way to solve it.
We didn’t have any money, because the client is a Foundation, so we did all the process with heart and a very nice group of people.
Has winning a Cannes Lion changed your career?
Yes and not. On one hand, people started to congratulate me and I received phone calls and messages from a lot of colleagues and friends. And of course I felt important. But the most important thing was that the campaign changed something in this world. I really love The Salt you can see and a feel proud of it.
On the other hand, I am the same person as always. I try to do my best at work and a Lion doens’t make me different in that way. It’s just a very important acknowledgment for my career and “un mimo para el alma” like we say here in Argentina.
Are there any past female winners that have inspired you?
Unfortunately not. I hope to be an inspiring women one day.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
I received a lot. Before winning at Cannes “You should have ants in your ass. Don’t stop moving”. After Cannes “Enjoy this moment. It’s impossible to win 5 lions and you did it.”
How did you get to the position you are in now?
Degree – Photography Producer Company - Audiovisual Producer Company - creative intern – creative while being a Professor too - Cannes Lioness
I think every creative has low-point days. “Why I’m not an astronaut!?”.
Obviously was last year – 2015- winning at Cannes. Best moment of my career ever.
Why is it important to see women winning?
When I was studying Advertising, one of my professors told me that Women are not prepared to work in an Agency. Because we cry, we don’t accept a NO for an answer, etc, etc.
So, I’m really proud of seeing women winning or being successful in all industries.
What’s your secret?
Don’t lose humility and being surrounded by inspiration (friends, creative people, movies, theater, books, family.)
If you could give one bit of advice to female creatives out there, what would it be?
If you want something, you can get it. Be yourself, don’t feel different for being a woman in this “male” industry. Try to take advance just for being a woman. We are more patient, we think a lot and my bosses really appreciate that.
You’re clearly ace at advertising but what else are you good at?
I’m a good teacher, too. I love sharing my passion to the students.
I love cooking but I’m better at tasting :P
